Aston Villa transfer news: Tony Xia hints at mystery January targets
Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has hinted at two mystery targets for the club on Twitter.
The outspoken owner has been vocal throughout Steve Bruce's search for players this month, and has tweeted hints that Villa are in the market for two mystery targets ahead of deadline day.
First tweeting "99.9%+95%+51%. #UTV", Xia continued to offer updates on the progress of signings by following up with a separate tweet stating "99.9%+98%+(51%->)99.99%+50%. #UTV @AVFCOfficial".
The first two figures are thought to be in reference to Barnsley duo Conor Hourihane and James Bree, but the third and fourth figures are open to speculation.
Villa are thought to be seeking a striker, as top scorer Jonathan Kodjia is currently with the Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Rumours have suggested that Bruce may be keen on a loan deal for Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom.
Meanwhile, a deal for Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes may also be rekindled after Bruce previously shot down the chances of bringing in the Scotsman.
Villa have already brought in Sam Johnstone and Henri Lansbury so far this window, but are expected to bring in several more as they push for the playoffs.
