Taylor's wife Rita will be at Villa Park along with the rest of his family as guests of the club, who are also inviting players from his two spells in charge to attend and take part in the pre-match tribute.

Steve Staunton, who was the last captain to play under Taylor, will lay a wreath on the centre circle after both teams have emerged from the tunnel.

A special matchday programme will also be published, including memories from former players and staff who worked with him at the club.

Taylor enjoyed huge success during his first spell at Villa Park between 1987 and 1990. Arriving at a club reeling from relegation, he built a team which won promotion at the first time of asking and went on to finish runners-up to Liverpool in the 1989/90 campaign.

His second spell, between 2002 and 2003, was less successful but could not affect his status as one of Villa's greatest-ever managers.

Taylor, who also managed Watford and England during an illustrious career, died last Thursday, aged 72, of a suspected heart attack.
