Nottingham Forest takeover delay hits Aston Villa's £3millon Henri Lansbury chase
Aston Villa's £3million chase of midfielder Henri Lansbury could be hit by more delays after the protracted takeover of Nottingham Forest was held-up further.
It had been hoped American entrepreneur's John Jay Moores' purchase of the Championship club, reported to be worth £50million, would be finalised yesterday but those hopes were dashed – it is understood down to some details being revised, rather than the deal hitting any major complications. However, no deal for Lansbury can be completed until the takeover situation is sorted.
Speaking to US journalist Barry Bloom of MLB.com, Moores said of the delay: "I am optimistic that we will close soon. But nothing definitive."
Meanwhile, Villa look set to ship out defender Aly Cissokho. The full-back has lost his place to Jordan Amavi and reports suggest the former Liverpool man could be set to join Greek side Olympiacos on loan with a view to a permanent switch. The French defender previously joined Porto on loan from Villa last season.
