Villa hotshot Jonathan Kodjia paid tribute to his team-mates after being voted the PFA Fans' Championship player of the month for November.

The 27-year-old claimed more than 40 per cent of the 17,000 votes cast, with his total of 7,483 more than double that received by Nottingham Forest's Henri Lansbury, who finished second.

Kodjia scored three goals in as many games over the course of the month as he continued his excellent start to life at Villa Park.

Yet while delighted at the recognition, the Ivory Coast international stressed his success has been a team effort.

"It's always nice to win awards. It means you're doing something right," he said. "I feel in good form, I feel fit and long may that continue.

"But I am just one player. I am one cog in the wheel. I am doing my job and other players are doing their jobs in the team.

"That's why we're winning and on a good run of form.

"Let's keep that going and keep putting smiles on the faces of the fans."

Villa, unbeaten in seven, head to Leeds tomorrow with doubts over the fitness of centre-back Nathan Baker, who was forced out of last weekend's win over Cardiff with a groin strain.

Club captain Tommy Elphick, who replaced him at half-time last Saturday, could be drafted in.
