Neil Warnock takes aim at Aston Villa star Jack Grealish

Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock aimed a verbal shot at Jack Grealish after apparently confronting the young playmaker in the Villa Park tunnel.

Warnock had been angered by Grealish's apparent effort to have Bluebirds player booked after being on the wrong end of several overly-physical challenges in Villa's 3-1 victory.

The 21-year-old was seemingly targeted for some roughing up by Cardiff players but had the last laugh after seeing full-back Lee Peltier sent-off for a foul before going on to earn Villa a penalty to secure the game in the last minute. However, Warnock claimed Grealish had been 'screaming' for City players to be booked and apparently waited for the youngster in the tunnel at the end of the match to vent his frustrations.

Warnock said: "I think Grealish does well for the penalty. I'm a bit disappointed with Grealish, trying to get players booked.

"He doesn't need to do that, he's a good player. He was saying 'three, four times, how many more?' and all that and screaming." Warnock had seen former Albion striker Rickie Lambert on target in the first half, briefly making it 1-1 after Albert Adomah's opener.

He added: "Probably there was a lack of quality that Villa possess, but when you pay £40million you expect that to exist. In the second half Villa were concerned at 2-1 and the sending-off of Lee Peltier was a blow following a tackle on Jack Grealish.

"I was disappointed in Grealish shouting at the referee... I suppose that is young professionals at the present."
