Aston Villa fan's view with Justin Hawthorne

What is there left to say? Myself, my daughter and friend Simon made the two-hour drive up to Preston on Saturday once again in positive mood despite what has gone on before, along with more than 5,500 travelling supporters.

We arrived and while walking to the ground we got talking to a local fan who informed us they are struggling to find goalscoring easy this season, well he needn't have worried on Saturday as we were in a very giving mood indeed – the goals, even by our low standards, were comical to say the least.

By the time we got to the break, chants of 'you're getting sacked in the morning' were ringing out alongside boos.

Once again there was no shape to the team in the first half and no direction as far as I could see, with Grealish spending most of the half running into people and falling over, Elphick looking less and less the leader we thought we had bought in the summer and Westwood — well, I don't know what he was doing quite frankly.

The second half started with two midfielders being withdrawn and McCormack and Gestede entering the fray in what can only be described as a 4-1-5 formation that was such a desperate attempt to change the game from a manager that surely now is in an untenable position.

With a two-week break now starting, I do believe if we are to salvage yet another shambolic season from the brink then a change of manager has to happen now.
