Aston Villa seal deal for Leicester's Ritchie De Laet
Villa have made their seventh signing of the transfer window with the capture of full-back Ritchie De Laet from Leicester City.
The 27-year-old Belgian has signed a three-year deal at Villa Park after the clubs agreed a fee, thought to be in the region of £2.5million.
Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo said: "I'm pleased to have brought Ritchie to the club.
"He is another player who not only has Championship experience but has also played a part in helping a team win promotion back to the Premier League."
De Laet, who began his professional career with Royal Antwerp, joined Leicester from Manchester United in 2012 and was part of the Foxes team which gained promotion to the top flight two years later.
Last year he made 12 appearances as Claudio Ranieri's men won the Premier League title, while he also played a role in Middlesbrough's promotion after spending the second half of the season on loan at the Riverside.
Villa boss Di Matteo has spent the summer revamping the club's squad following relegation from the Premier League.
The Italian is still determined to add another striker before the window closes next week.
