Villa's Jack Grealish gets England call
Villa's Jack Grealish has been named the England's under-21 squad for this month's Toulon tournament alongside Wolves defenders Dominic Iorfa and Kortney Hause.
For Grealish, it represents a first international England call-up since switching his allegiance to the Three Lions in September.
The 20-year-old had previously been capped by the Republic of Ireland under-17, under-18 and under-21 level.
News of the call-up arrives at the end of a disappointing season for Grealish, who has made just 20 appearances for Villa during a miserable campaign which will end in the club's relegation from the Premier League.
The Birmingham-born attacker saw his star ascend rapidly after playing a key role in Villa's escape from relegation last season and the club's run to the FA Cup final.
But he has struggled to replicate the form this term and was sent to train with the reserves by former manager Remi Garde in November, after being pictured partying in a Manchester nightclub hours after a 4-0 defeat at Everton.
Grealish has made just six appearances for Villa in 2016, with his last Premier League start coming in the 3-1 defeat at Sunderland on January 2.
Despite his lack of action, caretaker boss Eric Black believes Grealish still has a bright future with the club.
"Jack is an outstanding young player, no question," said Black. "He's got a great future with this club. He's not in the side at the moment - it's just a personal choice you make as a coach.
"What I would say is that he's a fantastic footballer, a great lad and he's working hard. I am sure he will have a big impact next season."
The Toulon tournament, which takes place in France, will see England face Portugal, Guinea, Paraguay and Japan in their initial group games.
