The 21-year-old never made a first-team appearance during five years at Villa Park, but did feature on the bench during Tim Sherwood's reign as boss.

Kinsella was part of the Villa youth team which won the NextGen Series in 2013 and featured for the club's under-21s in Monday's play-off final defeat to Arsenal.

He spent the latter part of the current season on loan at Kidderminster Harriers in the National League Premier, making 13 appearances and becoming something of a fans' favourite.

Announcing his departure from Villa on Twitter, Kinsella posted a message which read: "Sad to say I have not been offered a new contract and my time at Villa is over.

"Time to go make a career for myself and prove people wrong!"
