Jores Okore questions claim he is refusing to play
Outcast Jores Okore has risked further sanction after questioning the reasons given for his omission from Villa's first team.
Caretaker boss Eric Black last week revealed the Denmark international had been banished to the under-21s, with the Scot claiming Okore had asked not to be considered for selection after refusing to be on the bench for the 2-1 home defeat to Bournemouth earlier this month.
Yet in a series of messages posted on Twitter, Okore refuted the allegation.
The posts read: "I refuse to play? I was on the bench against Chelsea and the games before, why didn't I refuse to play those games?
"There must be more to it than MR. Eric Black is telling you!"
Okore, who has not played for Championship-bound club since last month, was already been facing possible disciplinary action and the latest comments are unlikely to have helped his cause.
At the very least it appears certain the 23-year-old, who has a year remaining on his contract, will not feature again for the club this season.
Black has meanwhile expressed hope left-back Jordan Amavi will be back fit for the start of Villa's campaign in the Championship. The 22-year-old ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee last November.
