Villa fans planning to 'stay out for seven'
Furious Aston Villa fans are planning to heap more pressure on owner Randy Lerner at Saturday's clash with Bournemouth.
The Aston Villa Protest Group is calling on supporters to stay out of the stands until seven minutes after the start of this weekend's home match.
It comes on a day which could see Villa relegated for the first time in 29 years.
The group said they chose the seven minute protest to reflect that Villa have won the league championship on seven occasions.
They want fans to make a stand on the concourses and also display banners in a bid to force change at the club.
The group said in a statement: "We must maintain the pressure on Mr Lerner.
And they added: "We are at a crucial time for the club as it seeks to appoint a new manager and we must leave those responsible in no doubt that they must work hard to appoint the correct manager for the plight we face.
"We must continue to show the world that despite a lack of passion from Mr Lerner and from the players that we the supporters care deeply for our club.
"We will not rest until Aston Villa is proven to be back on a firm footing and heading in the right direction."
