Time to pick the new direction at Aston Villa
Here we go again, the managerial merry go round is on us once more at Villa, writes Justin Hawthorne.
For once, I do feel quite sorry for the outgoing boss, as a few have said and I agree "right man, wrong time."
I do genuinely wish Remi Garde good luck with the rest of his career, I don't think he will ever be put in the position he was at Villa with any other job he will ever take
So onto quite possibly one of the biggest decisions in our club's history and we all have our own opinions on who we want sat in the dugout next season.
For me, there is only one man for the job - David Moyes. He's a man who himself needs to re establish his own standing in our country after his short spells at Manchester United and Real Sociedad.
It is obviously his fine work at Everton that we all hope he can recreate at Villa Park.
He is also currently out of work, as is his old assistant Steve Round. And, if the papers are to be believed, he does want the job.
So I can't really see how or why he wouldn't be give the job quite quickly.
Whether he would want to take up the role straight away, or just sit in the stands to assess the squad ahead of the summer, we will wait and see.
If he, ultimately, isn't the man then there are a few other names being banded about. Sean Dyche, Steve Bruce, Nigel Pearson to name a few.
I can't really split them, I do feel any of them would give us a decent shout of promotion but I worry long-term.
Moyes offers us both short term and long term stability. But whoever gets it will have a huge job to do starting with getting rid of the poison players within the first-team squad.
I would start the cull with Joleon Lescott, Micah Richards, Brad Guzan, Gabby Agbonglahor, Kieron Richardson and Charles N'Zogbia.
I'm sure others are just as to blame as these for lack of effort and desire, but I do think these are the ringleaders. The end of the season cannot come quickly enough now.
