Manchester United were reported to have made a late move, but with Arsene Wenger unwilling to loan him to a rival for a top-four spot, Debuchy is set to return to his homeland as he looks to rescue his hopes of playing for France in Euro 2016.
Villa are yet to sign anyone this January, despite accruing just 13 points from their 23 matches so far this season.
