Boss Tim Sherwood has urged Villa to take their chances after predicting they will "dominate" tomorrow's derby with Albion.

The claret and blues chief reckons the onus will be on his side to break down a stubborn Baggies defence which has not been breached away from the Hawthorns this season.

"They (Albion) are similar to what they always are," he said ahead of the Villa Park encounter. "I think they are very organised under Tony and hard to beat.

"We know we are going to dominate the game and it is important we take our chances and don't give sloppy goals away. If we execute our gameplan, we will come away with a win.

"They always are tough to break down. There are so many people behind the ball but getting men behind the ball is no guarantee of winning football matches otherwise nobody would ever beat Barcelona. It's about taking our chances.

"If we take our chances they will have to change their gameplan and we will find out if they have another one."

Sherwood is assessing the fitness of Carles Gil and Adama Traore.

Tomorrow's game is the first of two derbies in the space of four days for Villa, who host Blues in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.
