Disappointed Villa boss Tim Sherwood revealed he has 'never felt this bad' after his team surrendered a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 at Leicester City.

The visitors had looked set for their second win of the Premier League season after goals from Jack Grealish and Carles Gil had put them firmly in the driving set with 63 minutes on the clock.

But the Foxes then found three goals in 17 minutes from Ritchie de Laet, Jamie Vardy and Swansea loanee Nathan Dyer to snatch an unlikely victory yesterday.

Sherwood said: "I have never felt this bad ever. Their first goal gives them momentum and unfortunately we couldn't wrestle it back.

"The only way you wrestle momentum off a team is by keeping the ball off them and we just kept giving it back to them.

"They had to change things at half-time because we were out-playing them and we give them credit for making the changes they did.

"But the game was gone, it was finished with 30 minutes to go.

"To be 2-0 up at this level the game should be dead and buried then but unfortunately we made unforced errors and it has cost us the game.

"It was down to individual errors which is something we need to stop happening."

Asked if his players had been guilty of thinking the match was done and dusted at 2-0 up he added: "No. I don't think so. I think they are professional enough (not to think that) but they also know on reflection that those goals Leicester scored, they haven't had to work very hard for them."

Villa had been given a dream start when Grealish curled in his first Premier League goal on 39 minutes before Gil added a spectacular second 18 minutes after the re-start.

But Sherwood was too disappointed to reflect on any positives from the match in the immediate aftermath.

He said: "We have got nothing from the game . I am bitterly disappointed for everyone associated with the club."
