Rudy Gestede's eager for a slice of home action
New-boy Rudy Gestede admits he can't wait to get his first taste of the Villa Park atmosphere against Manchester United this Friday.
The 26-year-old made an instant impact when he came off the bench to grab the winner in season opener at Bournemouth.
His goal sparked wild celebrations on the terraces and now the Benin-born hot-shot is relishing the prospect of walking out in front of the Villa Park faithful for the first time.
"It was an amazing feeling to celebrate with the fans," he said. "I can't wait for Friday now. I am looking forward to it.
"I have heard the Villa fans at Villa Park are great. I want to see this."
Gestede is one of nine new players to have arrived over the course of the summer and boss Tim Sherwood is keen to make even more additions but having signed four players from the French league, Sherwood insists further arrivals are likely to be English.
"Having English players is crucial because we're playing in a British league," he said. "That core of players is important."
