Sherwood is up for Premier League Manager of the Month for March, while striker Agbonlahor is up for the player prize.

Villa won two of their three league games in the month to move out of the relegation zone. Christian Benteke scored an injury time penalty to secure a 2-1 win over Albion, while the claret and blues also ran rampant in a 4-0 win at Sunderland.

The only blip was a 1-0 home defeat to Swansea, in a month which also included a 2-0 FA Cup victory over the Baggies.

Agbonlahor hit the net three times, doubling his season tally to six. That included a brace in the win on Wearside, while the 28-year-old's all-round play also contributed to the team's improving fortunes.

Sherwood is up against Southampton's Ronald Koeman, Arsenal's Arsene Wenger and Man Utd's Louis van Gaal.

Agbonlahor meanwhile faces competition from Arsenal's Olivier Giroud, Tottenham's Harry Kane, Liverpool's Jordan Henderson, Arsenal's Francis Coquelin and Man Utd's Marouane Fellaini.

Wolves duo Kevin McDonald and Richard Stearman have meanwhile been named in the Football League team of the month for March.

Kenny Jackett's side lost only one of five tough fixtures through the month and McDonald and Stearman were ever-presents in the team.
