Aston Villa pair left out of United States tour
Wide players Aleksandar Tonev and Antonio Luna are on the verge of leaving Aston Villa after being left out of the squad for the tour of the United States.
Villa boss Paul Lambert has decided to leave the duo out of the travelling party for the trip to Texas as he looks to move last summer's signings out.
Left-back Luna is being strongly linked with a move to Italian side Verona having fallen down the pecking order at Villa Park, with Kieran Richardson, Enda Stevens and Joe Bennett set to battle it out for the full-back berth.
Tonev also looks to be on his way out of the club after failing to impress following his move from Lech Poznan last summer.
Instead of taking the want-away duo, Lambert has opted to include academy pair Callum Robinson and Samir Carruthers with a view to drafting them into the Villa first-team squad this season.
Villa fly to the United States for an eight-day training trip which will include two matches against Major League Soccer clubs FC Dallas and Houston Dynamo.
They face Dallas tomorrow at the Toyota Stadium and Houston on Sunday morning at the BBVA Compass Stadium. Assistant boss Roy Keane will take charge of his first Villa tour alongside Lambert.
