The keeper was an ever-present in the Premier League for the claret and blues this season and is likely to be No.2 to Everton's Tim Howard in Brazil.

The players will report to a training camp in California tomorrow and the final 23-man squad must be submitted to FIFA by June 2.

Jurgen Klinsmann's side face Germany, Portugal and Ghana in Group G in the summer.

"We had some difficult decisions to make, and we are very excited about the 30 players coming into camp," Klinsmann said.

"There is competition in every position, and these next couple of weeks will allow us to make the final determinations on the best 23-man unit to represent the United States in the World Cup."
