Paul Lambert in limbo over future as Aston Villa boss
Paul Lambert today admitted his Villa future is in limbo as Randy Lerner prepares to reveal his plans.
The boss is still in the dark about chairman Lerner's intentions and knows he could still face the sack in the summer.
Lerner is expected to confirm next week that he wants to sell Villa, who sealed Premier League survival with Saturday's 3-1 win over Hull.
Lambert has come under fire from fans after another season-long struggle but wants to be able to continue the job he started in 2012.
He said: "I hope I will still be manager next season, that is what I want to do, but you'll know when the chairman says what he is going to do and until he does I have honestly got no idea either.
"It is a fantastic club, albeit the last couple of years has been tough. I think the chairman has said himself I have had to work within the parameters he has set between me and him. You either take the challenge on or bottle it.
"I respect the chairman's statement and what he is going to say.
"It will bring clarity and it will not be a problem whatever way he wants to play it himself."
