Aston Villa seeking a home cure after Fulham defeat

Boss Paul Lambert today conceded Villa's historic home form has to improve after they clinched an unwanted club record.

The claret and blues have lost 10 home league games for the first time in their 140-year history after a 2-1 defeat to Fulham.

Villa left to a chorus of boos on Saturday as the home pressure grew on Lambert, who

said: "It has to be better. It's got to be. You can't keep relying on the away form, you have to get that home form right and it's up to us to rectify that. The crowd has been very good, you can't argue with the fanbase.

They come to watch their team win and we never delivered."

Hugo Rodallega's late winner lifted Fulham off the bottom of the Premier League and clinched a league double for the Cottagers over Villa this season.

Grant Holt's first goal for the club had cancelled out Kieran Richardson's opener but Villa sunk to their third straight defeat after beating Chelsea 1-0 last month.

And Lambert admitted he is frustrated having not built on their victory over the Blues.

He added: "Very much so, Stoke was disappointing, at United you can go up there any day and get beaten whether you're on top form or not.

"To lose to Fulham was poor because at 1-1, with the injuries we did have, OK, you'll take that."
