Aston Villa's Paul Lambert happy with performance but not the result
Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert believes his side can put together a good run and get the points required.
Speaking after the Everton loss, Lambert said: "We knew it was going to be a tough game at the best of times but we had a gruelling game on Wednesday.
"The two days turnaround is tough in this league. But for 70 plus minutes we were comfortable."
Villa took the lead when Leandro Bacuna scored from Christian Benteke's assist.
"It was good play for our goal. Fabian does great. Christian puts Leo through. It was a good finish.
"Their first goal is disappointing. The second goal is a world-class free-kick."
In regards to his sides chances in the Premier League, Lambert said: "We are still in there with a decent points tally.
"If we keep playing the way we are, we will certainly win more games than not. We keep going."
