Paul Lambert ruling out last-minute Aston Villa panic buys
Boss Paul Lambert today refused to panic buy and insisted he "trusts" the squad if Villa fail to clinch any deadline-day moves.
The claret and blues still hold out a slim hope they can sign Wes Hoolahan from Norwich before tonight's 11pm deadline.
Lambert has signed Ryan Bertrand and Grant Holt on loan from Chelsea and Wigan respectively in his only bit of budget business in January.

And, ahead of tomorrow's trip to Everton, Lambert said he is happy with his players should he fail to add more.
He said: "If I don't get anyone in, I don't have a major problem. I have so much trust in the lads and Bertrand and Holt coming in have been a major boost."
Hoolahan, who had a transfer request rejected this month, is believed to have used strong language to describe the situation during an exchange with a reporter.
Norwich boss Chris Hughton confirmed he will look at the matter but insisted Norwich's stance has not changed over the Irishman.
Meanwhile, striker Nathan Delfouneso has joined Coventry on loan for the rest of the season.
