Christian Benteke anger at Aston Villa quit claim
Christian Benteke was today "disgusted" at reports he was prepared to quit Villa, according to his agent.
The striker's representative Eris Kismet insisted the striker was misquoted and would never force a move from the club. Benteke, on international duty with Belgium, reportedly hinted on Thursday he was leaving his options open but still insisted he was happy at Villa.
He scored 23 goals in his debut season in England after a £7m move from Genk – attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal.
But Kismet said the 22-year-old, who has held talks over a new contract with Villa, was committed to the club and rejected the claim he would look to move.
"He has been misquoted. The true line is that Christian does not want to make a war with Villa," he said.
"He has called me from New York and he is disgusted, I have told him not to speak to any media."
