West Bromwich's Young Mutley has been confirmed as one of the first fighters in the next edition of Prizefighter at Wolverhampton Civic Hall on January 28.
The former British welterweight champion and stable-mate Mark Lloyd are the first two picked for the eight-man, one-night, three-rounds-a-fight, winner-take-all tournament, live on Sky Sports.
The 35-year-old could have to slim down to light welterweight but the show's organisers, Matchroom Sport, have not yet decided whether to set the limit at light welter or welter.
Mutley - real name Lee Woodley - has been out of action since a points defeat to Birmingham's Frankie Gavin with the WBO Inter-Continental welterweight title on the line in May.
But Mutley has been in Prizefighter before, in the light welterweight edition of December 2009, beating Barrie Jones in the first round before being outpointed by Colin Lynes in the semi-finals.
It was way back in July 2008 when Mutley last boxed at the Civic, beating Latvian Sergejs Savrinovics over the distance in a routine win.
