Birmingham manager Chris Hughton today vowed the team spirit at St Andrew's will help carry his players through a challenging week of games.

Blues have three home games in eight days starting in the Championship with Leeds tonight and Brighton on Saturday, before a Europa League fixture against Club Brugge next Thursday.

It's a run which will place a strain on resources but Hughton is determined to extend their winning sequence, which already stands at five games.

He said: "I think there's a really good spirit at the moment and a real good feel within in the team. How long that lasts, how long that run lasts, you don't know.

"We could go into the game against Leeds and play awful and get a scrappy 1-0. You don't know. What does happen is the better form you are in, the better prepared the opposition become.

"They know what your strengths are, that you are on a good run, but these are the pressures you play under."
