Birmingham are close to agreeing a fee that will see them sell Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome to Stoke - but personal terms may yet be a stumbling block.

Blues have been in negotiations with the Potters for several weeks and the clubs appear to have settled a joint fee, understood to be in the region of £16million.

Former Walsall defender Dann is valued at £12million, with striker Jerome at £4million.

But chairman Peter Coates will not consider the transfers a done deal until wages have been agreed with the duo.

He said: "We have made an offer and are hoping to do a deal that will satisfy both clubs.

"It is my understanding we were very close to a deal but then you still have to sort things out with the players.

"These things can take forever."
