Birmingham today rejected a £16million double bid from Stoke for Scott Dann and Cameron Jerome.

The Potters made the double bid on St Andrew's as they looked to build their squad for next season's Europa League challenge. However, Blues have rejected the offer.

Stoke were linked with a £12million move for Dann earlier this month and made a £4million bid for striker Jerome in January.

New Birmingham manager Chris Hughton has admitted he is resigned to losing his top stars following relegation from the Championship.

But Hughton insisted the club will play hardball over the fee with Blues refusing to sell their stars on the cheap.

Dann has been linked with Liverpool and Arsenal after impressing at St Andrew's since a £3.5million move from Coventry in 2009.

But the former Walsall defender missed Blues' Carling Cup victory over Arsenal in February with an Achilles injury, which also ruled him out of Blues' relegation battle.

The duo are set to follow Craig Gardner out of St Andrew's, with the midfielder expected to complete a £6million move to Sunderland today.

The former Villa trainee top scored with 10 goals last term at St Andrew's.
