Chris Hughton has declared 'I call the shots' after being appointed Birmingham's new manager.
The Blues boss expects total control over transfers and believes he can work with acting chairman Peter Pannu and owner Carson Yeung.
Hughton replaces Alex McLeish, who quit citing board interference before making a shock switch to Villa last week.
But Hughton, who worked under controlling Newcastle chairman Mike Ashley, insisted he will not be pushed around and will have the final say on the team.
He said: "There will be no-one coming in without my authorisation. I can assure everyone there will not be a player who comes into this football club without my blessing.
"I want to have a good relationship with Peter and the board. It's very important, more important in the modern game, and I expect us to work together.
"Particularly in the immediate time, where there is a lot of work to do."
