The right-back missed Thursday’s Europa League win over Lille with a calf problem and is battling to be back for the clash at Old Trafford, which could have huge ramifications in the race for Champions League football.

Boss Unai Emery and his coaching staff will check Cash during training on Saturday to determine whether he can feature.

Lamare Bogarde, who impressed during the win in France, is again poised to deputise if required.

Villa and United are level on points in the Premier League table, three ahead of rivals Chelsea and Liverpool in the battle for a top-five finish which will, in all probability, be enough to secure Champions League qualification.

Midfielder Ross Barkley and winger Alysson come back into contention, with neither part of the club’s Europa League squad.

Jadon Sancho, however, is unavailable to play against his parent club, while Youri Tielemans remains out with an ankle injury.
