Chris Wilder believes West Brom are in a false position - as he bemoaned Sheffield United's performance after being held to a 1-1 draw at Bramall Lane.

The Blades were the form side going into the game against struggling Albion - who slipped into the bottom three following Oxford United's win over Preston on Friday night.

But the home side had not even had a shot on target when George Campbell turned through his own net to put them in front early in the second half.

Max O'Leary made a huge save late in the game and United spurned two good chances - before Campbell turned his and Albion's fortunes around with a thumping effort to rescue a well deserved point.

Wilder admitted his side lacked the quality to hurt Albion - and explained that the Baggies and a number of their players are in a false position in the middle of a relegation battle.

He told BBC Radio Sheffield: "We had control in the first half without hurting them and we didn't find any sort of quality.

"We missed two or three good chances and we needed it (a second goal).

"They were always going to stick it on us late on, we needed to handle it and the goal summed up our second half performance, we made really bad decisions.

"Tactically nothing in the game hurt us but it was our decision making.

"They were always going to get after us when they were 1-0 down with the position they are in.

"We didn't deserve to win the game in my opinion.

"I've said it before, they have got players that are in a false position for the quality of their group so you have to respect that, but we have to be better.

"It is possibly one of the most frustrating afternoons of the season since I have come back."
