'Can re-ignite the season': Walsall fans react and lay down challenge after derby win over Shrewsbury
Priestley Farquharson was the hero for Walsall as a goal in each half was enough to get Mat Sadler's men back to winning ways.
His opener was cancelled out by Iwan Morgan - before the defender popped up with a header in the second half to give the Saddlers their first win since mid January.
The fans haven't had much to shout about lately - but it could potentially be a turning point following their victory at the Croud Meadow.
Here is what a few of them have had to say:
Tom Bebb said: "By far the better team today. Fully deserved the win. Don't understand why it doesn't work out for us at home. Maybe our home games need to be played in neutral grounds. Gives us more of a chance of winning."
Andrew Allen added: "It's the sort of win...away from home...local derby against an in-form side...that can reignite a season and bring the fans, players and manager together again. Hopefully we can build on it Tuesday night but for now it's one to enjoy. UTS."
Wednesbury Road said they have to back it up now, adding: "Credit where it’s due. Same with Grimsby. But who knows what we’ll follow it up with. 2 big home games coming up now, let’s see if we kick on."
Jimmy Swansea was of the same view and said: "Thoroughly deserved. Shrewsbury relying solely on the long throw on a purposefully narrowed pitch. We fought hard for that, tried to get the ball down and kept them largely at arms length. Excellent from our defence today. Now we have to build on this."
And Nath said: "Best performance in a long time, fully deserved to win. Hopefully more of the same for the rest of the season."
