Craig Parker bringing his hard-hitting style to Cannock
One of the biggest punchers in world boxing is coming to Cannock, writes Matt Bozeat.
Craig ‘Pressure’ Parker is a cruiserweight from Las Vegas who’s won all 21 fights – and 20 of his wins have come by knockout inside two rounds.
His 22nd fight will be held in Bar Sport’s Premier Suite on the Excelsior Sporting Club show there on Thursday, March 5.
Promoter Scott Murray has been friends with Parker’s coach – Hall-of-Fame trainer Jesse Reid – for more than 30 years and will be representing him in Britain.
Parker stayed in Cannock recently and Murray took him around top gyms for sparring.
Sparring partners included Chris Billam-Smith, the former WBO cruiserweight champion.
Former two-weight world champion Steve ‘Celtic Warrior’ Collins will be at the St Patrick’s Day show watching the new ‘Celtic Warrior.’
That is the nickname Tracey Webber has given herself and she comes to Cannock looking to spoil Jess Barry’s comeback.
The show also features unbeaten Redditch heavyweight Simon Ibekwe.
Cannock fight fans saw him chin Milos Veletic at Chase Leisure Centre last September and he is back in the town targeting a seventh straight win.
