Wolves Women hit five to keep pace at the summit but West Brom lose ground - round-up
Amber Hughes struck twice for five of the best for Wolves Women as they kept pace with league leaders Burnley.
Wolves saw off lowly Hull City with ease at their SEAH Stadium home in Telford to stay just four points adrift of the leaders with two games in hand.
Hughes opened the scoring with a cool lofted effort after just four minutes and Charlotte Greengrass doubled the advantage after 25 minutes with a neat finish in the six-yard box after work from Louanne Worsey and Hughes.
The home side built on their lead after the break as Hughes made it three after converting after tireless work from loanee Casey Howe.
There was time to add late gloss to the scoreline as substitute Rachael Quigley scored an acrobatic effort and Worsey netted from range for quickfire goals in the final 10 minutes for Dan McNamara's side.
McNamara said: "I thought we were excellent in parts. Hull will come, work hard for each other and graft and you have to find ways to take them apart.
"I thought we did that really well with some really good goals. Amber gets another brace which is fantastic and another assist for Casey. It was a great afternoon."
Rivals and pace-setters Burnley remain four points clear at the summit after a 3-0 victory over Albion at Turf Moor.
Yana Daniels' opener for the Clarets looked to be the difference-maker five minutes before the interval but further efforts from Claudia Mummery-Walker in the final 20 minutes and Heidi Logan in stoppage time sealed a handy win.
Albion are down in sixth and four points adrift of those above them.
Second-bottom Sporting Khalsa are five points adrift of safety after just a third league win of the campaign in a 2-1 success at fourth-bottom Derby.
Lowri Walker was the match-winning hero, just minutes after the hosts had cancelled out Ella Thompson-Moulding's first-half opener.
Birmingham City progressed to the quarter-final of the Women's FA Cup with an 8-0 thrashing of Chatham Town at St Andrew's.
French player Océane Hurtré netted a hat-trick in the trouncing - in which seven of the hosts' goals came after the break.
Veatriki Sarri, Batcheba Louis, with two, Lee Geum-Min and Wilma Leidhammar also netted.
Madison Farley was the hero from the bench to score twice as Hednesford Town picked up an important 2-0 win at bottom side Alvechurch in West Midlands Premier.
Hednesford are fifth and eye Solihull and Shifnal above them.
Chasetown ran riot at fellow mid-table outfit Rugby with a 6-1 success inspired Karen Harrigan-Clough's hat-trick.
Katie Thornhill, Leila Warner and Lydia Cope also netted.
Title-chasing Walsall saw off AFC Telford United 3-1 with Mia Fellows twice on target. Phoebe Smith added the Saddlers' third, with the gap to leaders Lichfield now eight points, but Walsall have three games in hand.
