Snooker round-up: Division One title favourites move one step closer
Hotshots A moved 10 points clear at the top of the Staffordshire & West Midlands Snooker Division One with a game in hand, after their B side beat second-placed Wednesfield Cons.

Oliver Spooner was the sole success story for Wednesfield, but Hotshots B won the day thanks to Neil Beckley, Dave Green, Hasib Hussain and Hasan Hussain.
Hotshots A faced tough opposition as they visited third-placed Shifnal War Memorial. Matthew Davies put Shifnal 1-0 up, but Hotshots fought back to win 4-1 as Callum Downing, Faizan Mohammed, Paul Deaville and Jamie Brown saw them home, and they are now heavy favourites to retain their Division One title.
Landywood Snooker Club moved into third place after a 4-1 at Poets Corner. Bill Stanton produced the performance of the week in the top flight, making breaks of 46 and 34 as he and Jack Harris put Landywood 2-0 up.
The score moved to 4-0 after wins from Robbie James and Dave Turner, before Pommy Kang won the final frame on the black for Poets to avert the whitewash.
Landywood C remain in the bottom two after a 3-2 defeat at Landywood B. Adrian Woods knocked in a 40 break to win the opener for Landywood C, which was followed up by Chris Shwalbe.
Riley Parsons and Chris Jones replied for Landywood B to force a decider, which Adrian Rosa won.
Pennfields dropped into the relegation zone after a 3-2 defeat at Stafford Institute. The night started well for Penn after Jim Woodhouse won the opening frame, but Stafford came back to win the match as Ian Duffy, Chris Ward and Jenson Kendrick won the next three frames with Kendrick knocking in breaks of 33 and 30. Jon Bate won the final frame for Pennfields.
In Division Two the focus was on the bottom of the table as Essington WMC looked to get out of trouble as they hosted Codsall Firs in a relegation clash.
Wayne Habberley won the opening frame on the black for Codsall, before Steve Goodall and Steve Heath made it 3-0.
Stuart Hemming pulled one back for Essington before Mitchell Lowbridge made a superb 72 break as Codsall won 3-2.
Pennfields B are still in the bottom three after falling to a 3-2 defeat against Poets Corner B. The first two frames were shared with Bill Reece winning for Penn and Mark Archer responding for Poets before Steve Garner's 62 break put Poets 2-1 up.
Stuart Garrett won the next frame as the match went to a deciding frame, which was won by Poets' Dave Blunt.
