Coventry City head to The Hawthorns having moved back to the top of the Championship table.

But despite their victory over Middlesbrough earlier this week - Sky Blues boss Frank Lampard has given out a warning to his players over the 'danger' West Brom could possess.

The visitors will go into the lunchtime kick off at The Hawthorns on Saturday as firm favourites - with Albion bang in the middle of a relegation dog fight.

But despite that Lampard wants his Coventry players to be wary because Albion can still bring 'danger'.

The former Chelsea and England midfielder told Coventry Live: "I think they’ve been tough to break down all season, in a way. I don’t think their underlying numbers and performances have quite equated to the goals that they have conceded at different times.

“I think they’re difficult to play against, off the ball they’re compact and organised.

And the position they’re in in the league will bring a danger for us if we go there with any overconfidence that the league position matters. It doesn’t.

"They will be a difficult opponent and we have to understand that and we have to get our game right.”

One glimmer of hope for Albion is the fact Lampard's men have a bad away record - much like Eric Ramsay's side.

Their last victory away from home came at Middlesbrough at the end of November - and alongside that their record at Albion is poor.

They have won just once in their last 13 visits to The Hawthorns.

Lampard added: "We were very good up until we went to Middlesbrough away earlier in season and since then our form has been poor away.

“We just have to take that as what it is and we have to try and address it. I think there’s a mental aspect and there’s a tactical aspect. It’s something we’re very aware of and we want to put it right.”
