The right-back missed the last two matches with a knee injury sustained in a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth earlier this month.

But boss Unai Emery revealed Cash has returned to training and will be in the squad to face Leeds, as Villa seek the win which would move them back to within five points of Premier League leaders Arsenal.

Teenager winger Alysson remains out, while skipper John McGinn is still a few weeks away from a return after knee surgery.

Youri Tielemans is not expected back until after the March international break at the earliest.

Goalkeeper Marco Bizot, meanwhile, will be suspended for the next three matches following his sending-off in the FA Cup defeat to Newcastle.

Villa have lost three of their last four home matches in all competitions.

Emery said: “We are analysing, and we are trying to get all the information, how we can keep being consistent, and of course, always improving.

“But we are playing against the opponent. And the opponents as well, they are being so, so, strong in the Premier League, each team we are facing.

“And sometimes we were winning matches, but we were so, so tight, to draw, to lose. And now, we are playing matches, and we lost, but we could win as well.”
