Former £17m Aston Villa man made available as free agent six months on from permanent exit

And now Philippe Coutinho is without a club - six months on from his departure from Aston Villa.

The former Liverpool midfielder arrived at Villa on an initial six month loan deal after impressing under Steven Gerrard.

But after arriving on a permanent basis in a £17m deal - he failed to hit the heights again.

He featured 43 times across three seasons at Villa Park - netting six goals.

After periods out injured, he went on loan to Qatar and then Vasco da Gama in Brazil - before the move was made permanent last summer.

He has been a key figure for the Brazilian side but in a surprise move he has reportedly asked for his contract to be 'ripped up'.

And now the 33-year-old former Villa man is now available as a free agent.
