Wolves v Chelsea: Rob Edwards' side in need of momentum ahead of congested February fixtures
The distraction of the January transfer window is over and Wolves are now focused on the final stretch of the season.
There are still four months left of the campaign and Wolves are still in the FA Cup, but relegation from the Premier League seems inevitable and some focus is already turning towards next season and the long-term ambition to be promoted at the first attempt.
The sale of Jorgen Strand Larsen and the signing of Adam Armstrong, who has been given the number nine shirt, was a step in that direction as Wolves prepare for Championship football.
But they have matches to play in the short-term and they must be competitive in every single one. Particularly at Molineux, Wolves cannot afford to throw matches away and damage the relationship with the fans further.
Beating Derby's record low points tally of 11 is a goal, while the club could try to catch Burnley and West Ham to avoid finishing bottom of the table.
But more importantly, Rob Edwards needs to maintain some of the good-feeling with the supporters and carry some momentum into next season, and that means winning a few more games this season.
