Sunday League round-up: Emerald Athletic strengthen title charge with statement win

Emerald Athletic moved three points clear at the top of Division One after beating title rivals Warstones Wanderers AFC 1-0 in their top-of-the-table tussle.

Louie Mason scored the only goal to extend Emerald's 100 per cent record and condemn AFC to their first defeat of the campaign in the Wolverhampton & District Sunday League.

Saul Wagstaffe bagged a brace and was joined on the score sheet by Luke Smith and Luke Hall as Shepwell Wanderers beat AFC Bradmore 4-3.

Division Two leaders Warstones Wanderers Sunday suffered their first defeat of the season after losing 4-2 at home to Dynamo 50 Stile. 

Goals from Shakeel Brown-Knight, Renelle Davis-Lawrence and Marvin Nisbett propelled Dynamo into a 3-0 lead inside 33 minutes.

Jordan Bradley and Armend Tora pulled goals back for Wanderers either side of Jantay Wellington's fourth for Dynamo.

Charlie's Sports Bar boosted their own title aspirations after emerging 5-4 victors against Bushbury Hill. 

Carl George scored twice for Sports Bar, as Abraham Beddows-Ellahi and Josh Cook also got on the score sheet.

Daniel Pitt, Tashan Brown, Riley Cooper and Jamie Hartley were among the scorers for rock bottom Bushbury Hill who remain winless. 

AFC Huntsmen romped to a resounding 9-1 crushing of promotion rivals Black Country Phoenix in Division Three. 

Ethan Pulakek completed his hat-trick after just 41 minutes to guide Huntsmen into the interval boasting a 7-0 lead.

Rio Dodd also netted early on, before Ryan Williams and Leon Roberts helped themselves to braces.

Wolves Pack climbed further clear of danger with a crucial 2-1 victory at Bradmore United thanks to goals from Callum Haughton and Wishmore Matongo. 

Elsewhere, Spartans Athletic cruised to a 7-3 demolition of Mental Health Sports. 

Division Four leaders Ashmore Park Rangers RBL inflicted a humiliating 13-0 defeat on second from bottom Viking United. 

A five-goal haul by Dan Hopson, Callum Slyde's brace and goals from Kaylem Stacey, Rhys Darby, Brynly Hill, Sharmar Lewis, Ryan Matthews and Joel Jeater completed the rout. 

Josh Climo netted a hat-trick in Mental Health Lions' 5-0 victory at Blackheath Athletic, as Callum Green and Richard Nicholson rounded off the scoring. 

Mental Health All-Stars progressed in the first round of the CE Yardley Cup with a 2-1 win at Warstones Athletic thanks to goals from Yaydon Bradley and Johann Mitrail. 

Ashmore Dog & Partridge eased into the second round of the GA Evans Cup with an 8-0 demolition of DY United, as Tettenhall Athletic also progressed with a 2-1 win over Connaught United.
