'We were complacent' - Kidderminster Harriers boss warns players after stalemate

Frustrated boss Adam Murray accused Kidderminster Harriers of getting complacent after being held to a 0-0 draw at Bedford Town.

Harriers extended their unbeaten run to 10 matches in all competitions and moved a point closer to the top-three in National League North.

But Murray was unhappy with the performance and explained: “I said to the players, this is a warning. We have come out of an away match with a point, which is good.

“But it is a warning because we can’t just turn up and expect things to happen.

“We have gone on the run we have because we have been making things happen.

“We know we have to max out as a team and we didn’t do that on Tuesday.

“We were too complacent. The players have had a lot of plaudits, a lot of smoke up their backsides but when they don’t hit their standards they need to know about it.”

Kieron Whittaker fired home the winning penalty to book Sporting Khalsa’s place in the Walsall Senior Cup semi-finals with a 4-2 shoot-out victory over Brocton.

Both teams went close to winning it in the closing stages of the 90 minutes with Kenny Devoir hitting the bar for Brocton, before their goalkeeper Kyle Langston then saving from Chay Tilt in spectacular fashion with virtually the last kick.

It was Khalsa who then held their nerve in the shoot-out, with Whittaker hitting the winner after two Brocton penalties had sailed off target.
