Teenage snooker sensation Bobbie sets new high break record
Fifteen-year-old Bobbie Wilson set a new high break record for Staffs & West Midlands Snooker League Division Three with a run of 116.
Not only is it a new Division Three record, but Wilson's 116 is the second highest break outside the league's top flight in its 84-year history.
His maiden league century set up his 16th win from 16 matches in Division Three so far this season and secured Q Bar Juniors a 3-2 triumph over Woodfield B - with Lucas Walker (38) and Archie Buskin also on target for the victors.
In Division One, Hotshots maintained their six-point lead at the top after a 4-1 win at Baggeridge Social Club - fighting back after David Hall took the opening frame for Baggeridge with a break of 61.
Ade Ojelay made a 38 break in frame two, but that is where things began to turn around for Hotshots as Callum Downing fought back to level the match, before Paul Deaville (52), Faizan Mohammed (52 & 30) and Jamie Brown secured the win.
Wednesfield Cons kept in touch with Hotshots after defeating bottom side Stafford Institute B 4-1 - again coming from behind as Stuart Jones won the opening frame for Stafford.
But a 54 break from Joshua Walker made it 1-1, before Oliver Spooner (35), Ryan Hamilton and Dan Ward (38 & 35) saw Wednesfield through.
Charlemont Bowling Club dropped into the relegation places after Pennfields' victory at Shifnal War Memorial B, despite beating Poets Corner 3-2.
Charlemont were victorious thanks to Daniel Ward (42 & 34), Ricky Sadler and Chris Compton.
Landywood C remain in the bottom three after a whitewash defeat at Sedgley WMC. Breaks of 48, 47 and 39 from Rhys Lampitt, Richard Davies and Richard Lampitt ensured they won their matches alongside Stuart Pritchard and Andy Cambridge as Sedgley enjoyed the perfect night.
Andrew Highfield scored the week's highest break of the week in Division One with a run of 71 in Sedgley Ex Service's 3-2 victory over Hotshots B.
Elsewhere in Division One, Landywood Snooker Club's top two sides went head-to-head and the B side came out on top, emerging 4-1 victors courtesy of Riley Parsons, Gary Miller, Andy Tapper and Chris Jones.
