Why big Leicester City decision could aid West Brom and have a say in the race for Championship survival
The Championship table makes for grim reading if you are an Albion fan at the moment.
After their under par campaign - Albion slipped down to 20th on Monday evening following Norwich City's surprise 2-1 win over leaders Coventry City.
They are currently two points above the dreaded drop zone line - but clubs beneath them do have games in hand.
This weekend Albion face a huge clash as they head to Portsmouth - who can leapfrog Eric Ramsay's side with a victory on Saturday.
It is still tight down the bottom of the table and a run of victories could see Albion fire up towards mid-table.
Sheffield Wednesday, Oxford United and Blackburn Rovers currently make up the bottom three, with Pompey sitting just below Albion.
Above that, there are five points separating Albion and Southampton in 15th place.
Sitting one place higher than Southampton and on a point more than them is Leicester City - who could well be dragged into a relegation scrap.

They have been on a rocky run in recent games and this week sacked manager Marti Cifuentes just six months after he arrived at the club.
Not only could their form lead to them being dragged into the relegation scrap - Leicester could be hit with another huge blow in the coming weeks that could have a big say in the fight for survival in the Championship.
The Foxes still have a cloud hanging over them with regard to breaking profit and sustainability rules while in the Premier League.
They faced a hearing at the end of 2025 having been handed three different charges. They related to breaching the PSR limit in season 2023-24 when the club was last in the Championship; failing to file their annual accounts with the Premier League before the December 31 deadline; breaching an explicit rule in the League's handbook which gives all clubs an "obligation to provide full, complete and prompt assistance to the Premier League."
The outcome of the hearing and the ruling has not yet been handed down - but it could potentially lead to Leicester facing a points deduction this season.
And speaking to Sky Sports this week, Leicester owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, admitted that he is worried about the outcoming of the hearing.
He said: "I am worried too. Every year we try to comply with PSR. The only one we don't know what it is, is the year we get relegated.
"And when we didn't plan for that, it hit us hard. But the rest of the season we are compliant, and I am sure a club like Leicester, everybody knows our story, I know we are trying hard to comply. I cannot say much, but let's wait for a decision, and the quicker is the better for all."
