The Rams' number one stopper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom was ruled out of their midweek clash with Charlton Athletic - after feeling light headed in the warm up.

He was on the team sheet at 6.30pm for the game - but the Swedish international was unable to play any part despite attempting to overcome an illness in a bid to play.

Speaking to the Derby Telegraph, manager John Eustace said: "Jacob was poorly on Monday. He travelled separately on his own on the morning of the game.

"It was always going to be touch and go with him, but he said he wanted to give it a go.

"Full credit to him for that.

"In the warm-up, he just felt very light-headed and said that 'I would not be able to perform' and he didn't want to let anyone down."

With second choice shot stopper Josh Vickers out - Eustace was forced to turn to his third choice keeper in Richard O'Donnell.

The well travelled former Walsall goalkeeper put in a fine display in Derby's victory.

Having to use his number three keeper may be seen my some as a dent to Derby - but Eustace doesn't see it that way.

It is not known whether Zetterstrom will be fit to return for the clash with Albion on Friday.

Eustace added: "It's about our squad and how they prepare.

"Richard has been working his socks off in training all year without an opportunity.

"I was excited to put him in and that's what the squad is all about. We ask every player to dedicate themselves in training. Do the right things and you will get the right results.

"I am delighted for him and very proud of his performance."
