West Brom player ratings in Middlesbrough defeat: Two 7s and a 5 as Albion suffer last minute heartbreak
Jonny Drury rates the West Brom players after their 3-2 defeat to Middlesbrough.
Josh Griffiths
A few poor kicks in the first period but throughout the game didn't have a mountain of saves to make. Could do nothing about the first goal. Could he have done better for the second? It is hard to say. Did make a top stop late on before the winner.
Conceded 6
Chris Mepham
Had a half chance snap shot early on in the game. Along with the rest of the backline they dealt with everything Boro had to throw at them for large parts. But should have done better to get a foot in, in the run up to the second Boro goal.
Question 6
Nat Phillips
Went pretty unnoticed throughout the game, which was a good thing. Solid, won his headers, looked assured and produced a big tackle late on as Boro were pushing for a winner.
Solid 6
Charlie Taylor
Unfortunate for the own goal and could not adjust his body in time. Did okay in other aspects of the game with no major errors but late on it was Taylor who lost his man and made it far too easy for Boro to net the winner.
Mistake 5
Krystian Bielik
Into midfield, a position he has played before but not for Albion. Did a decent job to be fair, rarely gave the ball away and just did his defensive duties well before coming off just after the hour mark.
