Donyell Malen’s departure to Roma has left Emery hunting for a replacement forward before the end of the month, with the boss claiming the sale represented a good one for all parties.

Villa struggled in the early weeks of the season, with Emery later admitting a difficult summer window in which several key players were linked with exits had proven distracting.

“It is mostly the club, Roberto (Olabe) and Damian (Vidagany) are with the owners speaking about the next signing, thinking of the striker we need.
