Albion were unfortunate to be a goal down at the break - but went 2-0 down in the second half and looked buried.
But goals from Isaac Price and Jed Wallace had them back level and they looked like going on and grabbing a winner.
However, not for the first time this season they were hit by a late goal, as Boro won it in the final minute of the game.
