Having battled back from 2-0 down against the high flyers - it looked as though Albion were going to go on and win the game.

But they left the back door open, not for the first time this season, and were beaten by a late goal.

Signs there will be progress

There were negative comments about that first half, having a lack of possession and going 2-0 down.

That is fair enough. But on the balance, did Albion do enough to get a point against the second placed side in the league?

Yes, they did. The first half was a tough watch, no doubt. But aside from a freak own goal the plan worked. Albion had the two best chances of the half.

In the second, the goal was poor and should have been cut out. Aside from that Boro only had one big chance before Albion fired back.

They had nine shots on target, 12 overall. They did create enough.
