Walsall swoop to sign defender on loan
Walsall have made their third signing of the January transfer window by bringing in Barnsley defender Kacper Lopata on loan.
The 24-year-old joins the Saddlers on loan until the end of the season.
Born in Krakow, Poland, he moved to England at the age of nine and started out by playing for a host of junior teams including Southampton, Bristol City and Brighton.
After being released by Brighton, he joined Sheffield United in 2020 making his senior debut was handed to a year later.
He was loaned out to Southend United, making 18 appearances in all competitions for the Shrimpers and played his part in a 14-game unbeaten league run before returning to Roots Hall on a permanent basis.
He joined Woking not long after on a short-team deal before making the move to Oakwell awaited as he joined Barnsley on a four-year contract.
A further loan spell with Port Vale followed before a switch to Scotland join Ross County on loan for the 2024/25 season.

“It’s something that has been in the works for a while now so I’m glad it’s all sorted and I can nowfocus on helping the team achieve its goals.
“I’ve played against Walsall already this season on loan at Bristol Rovers, the atmosphere on the daystood out to me and I’m looking forward to playing in front of the fans and representing the badge with pride.
Head coach Mat Sadler added: "I'm really pleased with the signing of Kacper. He is a big, strong, aggressive and mobile defender who has experience in League One with Barnsley and Port Vale as well as League Two having been on loan elsewhere in the first half of this season.
