Kim Hellberg's side are just six points behind leaders Coventry City ahead of Friday's clash - and go into the match against Albion as very much the favourites.

Albion will be buoyed by having a new man in the dugout - with the live game set to be Eric Ramsay's first in charge of the Baggies.

For Boro they could too have new faces involved in the game.

Boro landed Chelsea's Leo Castledine earlier in the transfer window for a fee just under £1m - after an impressive first half of the season on loan at Huddersfield Town that saw the playmaker bag 12 goals.

And on Thursday they made their latest move in the transfer market - bringing in Aston Villa full-back Finley Muroe for £350k.

Boro boss Helberg was speaking ahead of the game and was asked about the prospect of the pair being involved in Friday's clash at The Hawthorns.

Hellberg said: “They’re two players who have done very well with their previous clubs. They’re young players who want to develop, so it suits the environment we have here very well.

“I’m very happy with it. They are ready to play, then it’s a case of seeing if it comes to that. Both of them will travel, then we will see. Fin is a left-back, with good running up and down and a good left foot.

"He’s got good physical attributes, they’re two very good players.”
